Today I was on Facebook when a scammer hit me up via chat asking for money. This is the third or fourth time this has happened to me in recent months, so I thought I’d share this video with you so you can see how this scam was orchestrated and what to do in case it happens to you.

Sorry about that, that came from my account. When I was trying to reclaim my facebook account I saw you and my aunt on my chat. I knew my aunt had the same thing happen because she called me and told me what was going on.
Someone had hacked my facebook account and was doing this. The only reason my aunt noticed is because I never chat on facebook. I thought I had fixed it but facebook deactivated my account until they can be sure I am who I say I am.
Again I am sorry this happened to you as well.
Hopefully I will get my facebook account back today without to many issues.

I have this same thing come to me by e-mail from a past client.
I called them
Hi Sean,
You could help many more people by writing up a short description of the scam and adding it to this post. There are still Internet users who are unable to watch videos because of the type of Internet connection they have or their PC is older or has issues.
Thanks Sean. That’s a great share.
This is interesting. Thanks for the heads up.
This happened to me! They hacked my gmail account and sent it to all my contacts. I managed to get my account back for about 4 hours and remove mail forwards and as much else as I could. A few of my friends had fun, some where shocked and ready to help, but realized it wasn’t my language style!
fb closed my account for about three weeks! Then I got it back and finally three months later my gmail account was opened back up. All my contacts were deleted (copied) and my newer emails – I had most routed through gmail – big mistake!
Good warning, Sean
Ciao
Graeme
My email was recently hacked. Took a few days to get control again. And I still wasn’t receiving any emails. The hacker had added a forwarding address to an account that was similar to mine with one extra letter! What a creep.

I have a question regarding Facebook and http vs. https –> I was using https (just in case better security) but most of the apps doesn’t work when I have https on. Any suggestions?
